Spark Makerspace is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation and contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law (EIN: 47-5056168).

Mission:

Supporting makers with the space, equipment, education, and community to create a spark in their creativity.

Vision:

To be a vibrant community hub for making, creativity, and collaboration in southeastern CT.

HOW IT WORKS:

Spark Makerspace is a community workshop and learning center. For a small monthly membership fee, we provide access to tools, equipment, and work space for a wide variety of making activities, including art, woodworking, electronics, and more!

HOW TO JOIN:

Saturdays 1-3 PM, stop by
7 Union Street. Get a tour, see the facilities, and sign up.
Or email us to schedule a time that works for you.
We offer sliding scale memberships from $30 - $65 per month. Members get access to Spark facilities (7 Days a week, 6am -10pm),  member-only classes, and discounts to
Public Classes.

COME TO OUR WEEKLY
MEETUPS

  •  Monday nights 6-8pm and the 1st & 3rd Tuesday 12-2PM - Open Sew

    • A casual and inclusive meetup for fiber enthusiasts (primarily sewing, but other fiber arts are encouraged as well).  This weekly event is open to ages 12 and up (Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult)!  Join us for an evening of sharing your projects, meeting the Spark Team and other members, connecting with and collaborating with fellow fiber enthusiasts. Whether you're a beginner or experienced -all skill levels are welcome. Please note that this is NOT a class.  Feel free to bring your own sewing machine and supplies or use ours. The event is free for Spark Members, and we kindly suggest a $5 donation for non-members. Don't miss this opportunity to nurture your passion for fiber and make new creative connections. We look forward to seeing you there! 

  • 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month- Open Draw 6-8PM (Starting 1/10)

    • Open Drawing at Spark Makerspace Connect with a creative community and find a supportive peer group passionate about Drawing! Open to the public, no registration required. not a class, but a time to draw together and practice your skills. First and third Wed. 6-8PM - Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. $5 suggested donation.

  •  Last Wednesday of the month - 2D & 3D Art Critique @ Spark 6-8PM 

    • Open to the public, Peer critique Meet up for 2D and 3D artwork/projects. No registration is needed. Join to learn, grow, and share insights. Open to everyone. Bring a piece, or just contribute to the conversation.  Last Wed. 6-8PM - Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. $5 suggested donation.

  •  Thursday nights 6pm- Electronics and 3d Printing

    • Members and non-members interested in electronics, 3D printers, computer programming, Arduino, micro-controllers, the internet of things, robotics, CNC, and all other tech geekery get together. Bring something for show & tell or an inkling of a concept to start a group project. No previous experience or knowledge is required, just your enthusiasm. We recommend you bring a laptop! You'll find most of us working on computers, and we don't always have spares. The event is free for Spark Members, and we kindly suggest a $5 donation for non-members. Don't miss this opportunity to nurture your passion for fiber and make new creative connections. We look forward to seeing you there! (Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult)
