Unfortunately, due to safety concerns, we are not taking new members or doing tours at this moment.
At this time we are still on pause onboarding new members. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience of any new maker wanting to sign up and get into our spaces. During these dangerous times, the health and safety of our members and facilities take the utmost importance. We are still navigating to figure out what stations can safely orient a new member from a six-foot distance with a mask on. Much of our training and orientations require close proximity and with the rise of Covid cases in our county, we don't want to put our volunteers or you at risk. Please join our Member Waiting list. Please be specific as to which station you would like to start in and your knowledge in that area.
All except scholarship, start as a general member. General members pay a $55 monthly membership fee for shared access to all of our workstations from 10a - 10p, 7 days a week. Membership also includes discounts on classes, entry into certain member-only events, and an invitation to participate in the direction of Spark through member meetings and leadership positions.
After a month of being a General Member, members can propose to be a working member. Working members, like general members, get access to all Spark facilities and other member benefits above. In exchange for volunteering 8 hours each month, working members receive a discounted membership rate of $30/month and other occasional perks like appreciation events and additional input into Spark decisions.
Thanks to the Frank Loomis Palmer Foundation Spark Makerspaces offers scholarships to help toward one of its main goals: accessibility. We offer Scholarships to creatives who would like to access our space but do not have the financial resources to afford a membership. We award a limited number of scholarships every year. To apply for a scholarship for access to our makerspace click the button below and filling out our Google form.
At the moment we have awarded the allocated 2019 Palmer Scholarships, but we are still accepting applicants for the next time scholarships are available.
